Move for America's mission is to catalyze a generation of leaders to bridge divides and strengthen civic dialogue. We do this by elevating local voices to develop local solutions, and by preparing the next generation for collaborative and inclusive problem solving in all industries. Our signature program is the Move for America Fellowship, a paid, yearlong immersive service learning experience grounded in community engagement and civic participation.
About the Role
Move for America seeks an entrepreneurial individual who is passionate about collaborative, inclusive problem solving and who has excellent oral, written, and intercultural communication skills. This individual will develop materials and coordinate activities that promote Move for America to a variety of audiences, including prospective Fellows, community partners, and foundations. As the founding Community Engagement Coordinator, this individual will both build and execute a community engagement calendar, and will partner with the Executive Director to develop creative approaches to building our community of partners. The Community Engagement Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. This individual must have effective intercultural oral and written communication skills and knowledge of community constituencies and issues.
Responsibilities
Recruitment

Work in collaboration with Executive Director to recruit community-based nonprofits to host Fellows for year-long immersive service positions

Identify and coordinate attendance at recruitment events

Develop and distribute recruitment materials

Build relationships with colleges, universities, and community partners

Represent Move for America at recruitment events and career fairs

Assist Executive Director in recruitment and other partner-related support as needed
Communication
-
Develop and implement a community engagement and communications calendar

Manage ongoing communication with partners, prospects, Fellows, and other stakeholders

Manage website updates and an active social media presence

Support grant writing and fundraising communications

Develop and disseminate community engagement materials, flyers, and handouts

Gather and disseminate stories about program impact

Elevate the work and stories of partner organizations
Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in nonprofit field, communications, marketing, public relations, or related field

Excellent oral, written, and intercultural communication skills

Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Self starter and problem solver who works well independently and with people from diverse experiences and perspectives

Strong organization and time management skills and attention to detail

Adaptable and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and Zoom

Skilled in online mailing tools such as Mailchimp and CRMs such as HubSpot
-
Ability to learn new systems quickly
Compensation and Benefits

Starting rate of $20 per hour.

This is an hourly position expected to average 10-15 hours per week with flexible hours.

The position is remote. Employees and contractors are expected to provide their own computer, wireless internet, and workspace.
