Hello! My name is Hannah Gwaltney and I was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota. I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in English and Psychology. I am passionate about listening and learning from the community to better engage with the issues that unjustly affect some while working towards equitable solutions that can benefit all. I also love to read and can often be found listening to true crime podcasts in my spare time.
Hummingbird by Wilco
I have a very close relationship with my father and music has always been a way for us to
connect. This is his favorite band and we have gone to see them twice in concert. After I
moved away for college we were able to stay connected by sending songs to each other
daily.
So You Are Tired by Sufjan Stevens
I have loved Sufjan Stevens from a young age and absolutely adore everything he creates.
This song comes from his most recent album (a meditation on love and loss) and I find
the lyrics and emotion behind them very moving.
Daylight by Matt and Kim
I spent most of my summers in high school working as a lifeguard and this song brings
me back to those days. I am reminded of the sun screen, good memories, and the many
great friends I made there.
