Jill Carey
VP of Programs
Jill Carey is an award-winning social entrepreneur and business leader. After starting her career as a teacher, she founded Chicago’s first standard-aligned social-emotional learning company, creating pathways for schools to fulfill the Illinois Children's Mental Health Act of 2003. Jill's company served thousands of students across hundreds of schools, and it continues to grow under new leadership.
In 2021, when women's workforce participation dropped to a 34-year low, Jill launched a consulting firm dedicated to the retention and well-being of parents in the workforce. She also joined Burn-in Mindset to equip top educators to withstand and thrive in a challenging field.
Jill holds a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a M.A. in Education from Dominican University. She is a University of Wisconsin-Madison Forward Under 40 honoree.
She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, three daughters, and a very good dog.
