Service Project: Minnesota Multifaith Network

Education & Encounter Coordinator

Hello! I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio but have spent the last four years in the Pacific Northwest, most recently earning my Master's of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington in Seattle, and I'm excited to be returning to the midwest! Shaped from my perspective of being homeschooled in a multifaith environment I believe that strong communities aren't built from finding that singular point of commonality, but from learning to love and respect our differences. I believe Move for America's mission is in line with my beliefs and will allow me to work towards building communities based on communication and understanding.

Everyday’s A Lesson In Humility by Suki Waterhouse + Belle and Sebastian

I think
there’s a real beauty to recognizing failure and emotions like embarrassment and fear. For many
reasons I’ve always felt and been treated as different since I was a child and have felt like I was
missing some information on how to be a person. I wouldn’t say that I would choose that again,
but it has fostered in me a lot of understanding and empathy for other people.

Sleepwalker - Abridged by The K*llers

To me this song is about keeping looking forward
and knowing that things will get better but also about taking control of things getting better
instead of just waiting. The seasons will change and winter will turn to spring and spring to
summer but “it doesn’t come from without, it comes from within.” I’ve spent a lot of time in my
own head, but eventually I learned that escapism is just a bandaid. You have to make the choice
to change things.

The Great Unknown by Ezra Furman

I’m someone who really revels in leaping into
something new and taking risks. I think one of the most incredible and terrifying things about
life is that wherever and whoever you are now you can always change and meet a new version of
yourself. When Ezra sings “A human is something that rises and falls over time, dear” it’s a
stunning acknowledgment of how change is a part of us.
